Helping You to Resolve Important Family Matters
I received my legal training as a member of the first class of the Faculty of Law of the University of Victoria, graduating in 1978. I have practiced Family Law in Victoria continuously since 1979.
I have also been a member of the Victoria Collaborative Family Law Group since 2008, whose approach is a critical tool in resolving the issues that arise from marriage breakdown, and reflects my values that every effort should be invested in resolving disputes before resorting to Court proceedings. But, sometimes Court is required and, in those cases, I bring strong experience and judgement.
My representation in Family Law matters insists on a resolution to every issue including:
- Separation particulars
- Parenting arrangements (including guardianship, parenting responsibilities and child support)
- Spousal support
- Division of family property and debt
The preferred resolution tool and goal in most cases is a comprehensive Separation Agreement.
In addition to my contribution to the legal profession, I have served the community in various ways, including as a member of the Central Saanich Police Board 1987-1992, as an active parent in senior roles in School District #63 (Saanich), as a parent member of the Governing Council of the B.C. College of Teachers from 2003 to 2010, and as an elected School Trustee in the Saanich School District since 2011.
I value working collegially and creatively with my clients and other counsel.
